چکیده

In this paper we propose an architecture for dialogue systems that incorporate information extraction, thereby providing natural and efficient access to unstructured information sources. A key feature of the architecture is the use of ontologies as shared domain knowledge sources. We discuss how ontologies can be used for various tasks. with focus on question analysis, dialogue interaction and information extraction.

Ontology-Driven Context Interpretation and Conflict Resolution in Dialogue-Based Home Care Assistance

In this paper we present a framework for conversational awareness and conflict resolution in spoken dialogue systems for home care assistance. Conversational awareness is supported through OWL ontologies for capturing conversational modalities, while interpretation and incremental context enrichment is facilitated through Description Logics reasoning. Conflict resolution further assists the int...

Developing a BIM-based Spatial Ontology for Semantic Querying of 3D Property Information

With the growing dominance of complex and multi-level urban structures, current cadastral systems, which are often developed based on 2D representations, are not capable of providing unambiguous spatial information about urban properties. Therefore, the concept of 3D cadastre is proposed to support 3D digital representation of land and properties and facilitate the communication of legal owners...

Topic Switching Strategies for Spoken Dialogue Systems

One of the most important challenges researchers are facing within the field of Spoken Dialogue Systems is that life is neither domain dependent nor driven by a single task. In the recent past various methods to handle multiple tasks or topics in parallel within spoken human-human and human-computer dialogues have been investigated. In this paper we compare several task switching approaches suc...

WISE: A Prototype for Ontology Driven Development of Web Information Systems

The development of Web Information Systems(WIS) is a hot research topic both in industry and academia. This paper presents a platform for ontology driven WIS development: the Web Information System autoconstruction Environment(WISE). The novel features of WISE are: 1) Employing WIS ontology to specify user requirements; 2) Providing graphical tools to support ontology construction; 3) Drawing u...

Towards Combining Finite State, Ontologies, and Data Driven Approaches to Dialogue Management for Multimodal Question Answering

Information-providing dialogue systems typically use one of the following dialogue strategies: finite-state based, frame-based, or agentbased. Recent extensions are concerned with hybrid models, where mixed automaton and information state approaches are combined. We report on our multimodal mobile Semantic Web access system SMARTWEB which uses a more rigid dialogue management strategy to ensure...
